so i got the job at new school. it's been pretty fun so far.

i also got to work the ny comicon. it was freaking awesome. the company i worked for liked me, so if the conventions they go to in the future work with y schedule, then they'll fly me out to it so i can work the booth during the con.

i don't have a gig for the summer yet. bay street hasn't called... don't know if they're not interested or if they are just backed up. rccl's interviews are the first week of april, so that will be fun.

Wow... So much has happened since my last post.

So I did interview to be Jen's assistant and I got the job. It started today and it's going to be fun... 16 shows in 3 months. Talk about busy, but because it's a college, we get a springbreak. And it so perfectly is the same week leading up to Tabetha's wedding. Which is incredible handy b/c I'm her moh and floral designer for the bridal party. Well back to the job. Today we clean and organized out shop. The costume shop girls are really cool too, which is ice cause annytime I have to do something it'll be in their shop. This job is kinda funny b/c I'm an actual employee of the college, like Sharon or Gray were at my school. I have Keys and I'm official, but I'm younger than most of the students b/c its and mfa program only.

I also interviewed with Bay Street Theatre to be their paint charge this summer. I haven't heard back from them yet(sometime this week), but the interview went really well. It was like 40 min and most of the time was spent talking about various things. Definitely my best interview yet. I kinda really want it and the dates work out perfectly for working at New School. The theatre just seems really chill and awesome, but the still do incredible work and are highly reguarded. I'm kinda a little nervous cause it'll be my first time actually charging, but there is a first time for everything. And this theatre is a big leap point for many careers... most people work there for a few years and then make the transition to bway or year round at a large regional. In fact the props peson they hire used to do Jen's job at NSD for like the past 8 years, but she left it b/c she is doing props for most of broadway(it's a small world afterall)

Yeah so that's all that really going on for me. I'm think I'm going to a gallery opening this weekend, but I'm not entirely sure... Sheena can sometime be hard to understand so I'm not really sure if she was just telling me about the opening, or asking me if I wanted to go. Could go either way, but she did make a point about saying that she wanted to tell me about it cause she thought I'd realy dig the art. So who knows... I may end up going out to a gallery opening in Williamsburg or sitting on the couch with Jen watching a movie... good time either way.

Ok... well I'm going to head off to bed... oh and I hae a cold and have sneezed like 100 times or so today... so getting annoying, but just as long as it doesn't get worse, I can handle this.

so the job search continues. i could interview to be jen's assistant, but i don't know... the job goes through the end of april, but i'm not sure that i can do that b/c of royal caribbean... but i also don't know that they'd put me right on a ship.

i'm going to try getting a floral gig. with valentines coming up it should be too hard. but i don't know.

i know it's all going to work out... because it has to... but i'm starting to get pretty low on money and shelley hasn't given me my check or when she'll give it to me, so feb's rent is up in the air right now.

ok... enough stressing about my life for now.

So this weekend I have been working an ensemble showcase at the interart theatre. It's been fun and crazy and ive met some good people. Hopefully someone will call me and say they want to pay me for something. I'm starting to get tired though and there is a good deal of schmoozing to be done after this last show. I'm kinda sad that I'm missing the golden globes.., maybe I'll watch it tomorrow streaming from somewhere.

Hey.
So its been a really long time since i've used lj and i've decided to start again.
post-college life has been really crazy so i need to document it.

i didn't graduate in may...
my advisor though i had taken a class when i hadn't.
I had to take it via web in the fall.

since school,
i moved home for a litle until i got a job
i couldn't find anything, until michelle called me offering me one
so i moved to nyc and made decorative stair risers for carnegie hall.
it was kinda cool.

but then i lost my housing and had to move home.
one of my references needed an asm so i took that job.

it was for altar boyz in bethsda.
the show was really fun.
the boys were amazing
my roommate sucked.
but the end i was ready to be done.

so now i'm in nyc again.
michelle needed to get out of the country for a while.
so she's going to peru for 3 months and i'm subletting for her

i have no prospects of a job... which is kinda scary.
and very little money.
so the bohemian lie it is.
i'm sure i'll get jobs and it'll be fine.
jen just got a fullt ime job so she's going to send all her freelance stuff my way.

so thats the past year of my life.
and i'll keep you up on my 2009.

haven't updated here in forever!

i'm in my last semester of college.
the show i'm desigining opens in 3 weeks.
i have to start applying to jobs for after school.

things are pretty crazy right now.

today was freaking amazing.
woke up at 1pm after a crazy night.
spent the entire day playing guitar hero.
finished the night off by seeing hairspray with erin.
now i'm having "dinner" and rocking out to some music.

so i'm back at school.
classes are good.
the house is great.

sorry i haven't updated in forever...
i was dead, but i got better.

so dream girls has opened and closed.
it took a couple 10am-6am work days to get there, but we managed to.
the show was actually really really good.
definitely validated all the stress and hard work.

went to the city a couple weeks ago with jen.
we stayed at michelle's apartment in the east village.
had a blast and relaxed.

i ran spot for a week.
that was ok.

now it's change over for blonds.

planning for both of the weddings that i'm supposed to do flowers for is starting to happen.
one s in may, the other the following september.
both are blue.

that's all i'm gonna type right now.
hopefully i'll have time to go more into detail about things sometime.

there is no time
so many things still haven't been started.
it'll all come together some how just getting there will be one hell of a ride.

so i'm now a resident of the staff house on campus.
i used to live in the Co-op, but because the casts for the next two shows are so huge,
erin wanted to condense all the female interns into one room.
she also asked if i would live with them to free up some more space.
since they are cool i said yes.

the room is pretty big which is nice.
there are five of us so it needed to be a decent size.
i have my own sectioned off corner with a twin bed.
the other four girls hav bunk beds.
it's nice to not be an intern.

moving was suprisingly easy. i hadn't packed at all and my half of the room was a mess,
but it only took me like 30 min to move everything over.
it also only took that long to unpack again.

today and yesterday was also freaking awesome.

so yesterday i didn't have to work  the morning call because i had gone in at 3:30 the night before to do a 10 min paint call on the floor, so i didn't have to be at work until four thirty.
i got to sleep until 2, then i make chocoate covered strawberries for later.
we worked for 20 minutes and then were released to get ready for opening.
so i got pretty then kelly had cocktails for us on the tech porch.
i brought out the strawberries for everyone.
it was great, cosmo's, eveyone dressed up, yummy food.
the we saw the show.
it was amazing.
we oooed and ahhed at the set so much.
after was the usual opening night party.
so much fun.

today call wasn't until one.
so we were sitting on the porch
b/c spencer and kelly said they wanted to have a meeting ith us before we started work.
the come and tell us that the meeting is going to be held ont he beach.
so we got all beached up, had a ten minute meeting and spent the rest of the afternoon playing, exploring and swimming.
the we got back and did some work.
after presets were done for the show, us proptarts went to a diner for a family dinner/last night with michelle.
so much fun.
got to have really good greek foor that i have been craving since last semester started.
then i came back and moved my room.
only 3 of the 5 of us are sleeping here tonight.

but it's definitely time for a shower and them bed.

woot.

atlantic sity was amazing... again.
it was so much fun hanging around with the realy cool people that i work with.
the show was brilliant.
the dancing was so amazing.
i cried several times durring it.
i really wish that parts of my life could be played out in ballet.

some highlights:
-richard cheese making the drive awesome
-making a shady deal on a street corner
-still having my bracelette.
-kelly tighe and all the craziness he brings.
-insta bonding with jen
-zig zag.

one bad thing: i left my atm card an atm.
boo.

but now we are back and kicking myway out.
it looks so gorgeous.
i'll post pictures soon-ish.

super tired, so i'm heading to bed.

the past couple days have been light.
just delagating out to my two interns and reasearching stuff on my computer for brittany.
it's been really nice.
we've also been let go early each night.

i really love my designer.
he is a great boss and does the most crazy things to make us laugh.
he is designing a production of moving out in atlantic city.
on the 11th most of the tech company are heading down there to relax for 2 days and see the show
that is going to be so awesome.

Today kelly is sending brittany and i down there for a paint call on the show tomorrow morning.
i'm really excited about it.

the show is happening.
there isn't anythign to do but back paint platforms as they come and work on a bar we are building for it.
it will be really pretty though.
it's all wood grain and gold.

well...
today  i grinded rust off 4 wroght iron chairs for 3 hours.
i still don't have all the feeling back in my hands.
then i spray painted them white.
after that i helped olivia finish the parking signs.

what a day...

i so need a shower and bed.

i'm not dead, i swear!
just have been really busy out here.
not much paiting yet....
i came to the show right before tech so most of the set was painted.
but i did get to paint htis really kickass moose fo rthe show....
i'll post pictures of that sometime.
but prett much i've been doing a lot of sewing.
i made 2 100% fullness velour drops and one full stage china silk drop.
yay for me knowing the temperments of sewing machines.

the people are still great.
we only have 2 of our interns so far.
one i absolutely adore ad the other i kinda want to kill.
we have one or two more still on the way.

so now to go do my dishes.
then to grab some headphones and watch heroes.

so i'm in Ny now.

the room is kinda small.... like 12'x14'
but it's doable.

today was fun.
i painted a bunch of shit white
and cut out panels to make a drape.
i got super covered in paint which is great...
my paint pants are that much cooler now.

the people are very cool.
brittany is a great boss.
corey is an ass but very cool.
all the others are going to be very cool to work with.

there is also a bunch of people.
there are 4 interns that are shared between the props dept and paints.
yay for getting to boss people around.

so not it's time for a shower and then chillin a bit before bed.
i don't have to be in for work tomorrow until 11,
but i'm going to get up a bit early to go to the grocery store and get some food.

.... well actually it's been over for a few days.

i got everything finished and bob was happy.
potfolio review was good.
and all is happy.... except for the class i most likely failed.

so i came back to frederick saturday morning,
just to find i've been roped into being the spotlight op fo rthe last two shows of 3penny.
it went fine considering i hadn't had much sleep for the past two weeks and that the blocking for the show was different because of the new space and it was a spotlight i had never used before.

in other news, i got a new cell phone.
no more turning off when i close the lid and no more charge jumping.
yay.
celia- it's the same phone you have.

saw hot fuzz today.
it was absolutely brilliant.
everyone and their mum should go see it.

so now it's just haning around frederick until wednesday.
then it's time to go to new york to start my job.
woot.

so not ony did i get the job, but today i was offered a promotion.
instead of being the scene painting intern, i'm going to be the actual scenic artist for the shows.
so crazy
and instead of being in a quad room i'm now in a double.
i also got a big pay raise too.
i'm excited....

i also finally got a good concept for love's labors lost. yay.

but for now i'm really tired and don't have any school work to keep me up,
so i'm passing out.
